Lesson Three: Optimise your health with our favourite food-based supplements!

We believe that natural, food-based supplements are best as they provide micronutrients to your body in the way that nature intended. And choosing the natural form over a synthetic version means the micronutrients are highly bioavailable and easy to absorb, digest and assimilate in your body.

To help you find out exactly which supplements you need, and which ones you don’t need, we provide a personalised health coaching service .

Why supplements are needed

Even when we choose quality nutrient-dense foods, our modern food system has introduced some major obstacles to staying healthy through diet alone. These include:

  • 1. The aggressive agriculture of intensive farming has resulted in mineral depletion of the soils, leaving our modern food less than nutritious. We are taking nutrients faster than what can be replenished, meaning our children face an uncertain future with less global food security.[1] "Some of these soils developed over thousands to millions of years. We can destroy that in a few hours."[2]
  • 2. Pesticide, herbicide and fungicide sprays on our food can have several damaging effects on the earth, flora, fauna and human health. There are measurable declines in beneficial pest predators, essential pollinators, crop yields, air pollution, soil and groundwater leaching, and chemicals in food products that bioaccumulate in the food chain. Moreover, the risk of contamination can persist for decades as many pesticides remain in the environment over long periods. [3]
  • 3. Air pollution from vehicle emissions, fossil fuel combustion, forest fires and factory outputs bombard our bodies daily. Studies show nutritional supplementation can support our bodies to perform at their best. Consider adding B vitamins, vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin D and omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) to your supplement regime for their protective effects. [4][5][6]
  • 4. We recommend high-quality food-based supplements that have been sustainably harvested, minimally processed, and proven effective.

While it would be great to get all of our nutrients through diet alone, most of us need to include some level of supplementation to function at our best.

Our favorite food-based supplements
